^8 (A)Then the nations set against him
    from provinces on every side;
^(B)they spread their net over him;
    ^(C)he was taken in their pit.
⁹ With hooks ^(D)they put him in a cage^[a]
    and ^(E)brought him to the king of Babylon;
    they brought him into custody,
that his voice should no more be heard
    on ^(F)the mountains of Israel.
¹⁰ Your mother was ^(G)like a vine in a vineyard^[b]
    planted by the water,
^(H)fruitful and full of branches
    ^(I)by reason of abundant water.
